Become an inventor and work together to make an elaborate chain reaction (also known as a Rube Goldberg) machine. Achieve a simple goal in the coolest, most complicated way possible.
For anyone who doesn't know what a Rube Goldberg machine is, it's "a contraption, invention, device, or apparatus that is deliberately over-engineered to perform a simple task in a complicated fashion" - named after inventor Rube Goldberg, and made famous by some well-known car adverts! Put simply, it's a creative, fun and awesome way to work together to create an amazing visual chain reaction.
We'll do our own take on it, with scrap metals, toys, balls, dominoes, pulleys, levers and electronics to create part of a chain reaction machine. Come with family, friends, or on your own, and play a part in building a brilliant contraption all together!
The activity will last around 45 minutes, with 15 minutes at the end to show the machine in action. You can sign up for a place on arrival at the front desk, or just come along at the advertised time. Places are limited for each session.
