Dark Side of the Moon: The Fulldome Experience

An audio-visual extravaganza, inspired by the music of Pink Floyd, featuring the entire 1973, 'Dark Side of the Moon' album in glorious 5.1 surround sound, with retro abstract projections on the full dome enveloping the entire audience to create a truly astounding experience. The visuals were actually created in 2001 by Starlight Productions in the U.S but have only recently been shown in the UK.

FAQs

 

Q. I can’t get tickets. All of your shows have sold out!

A. This show is in high demand. We will aim to release more dates as soon as we can. Please keep an eye on our website for more dates.


Q. How do I get into the Planetarium for evening events?

A. There is a separate entrance for Planetarium evening events. Follow the building away from the main entrance towards the silver ball.  There is a glass door in the side of the building. The entrance will be signposted.

 

Q. Where do I collect my tickets?

A.  Please bring along your reference number/name to the Planetarium colonnade entrance where your wristbands will be ready to print/collect. Please confirm whether you have booked online or over the phone when you arrive. Tickets will not be posted. You will need to arrive at least 15 minutes before the show. Doors open 30 minutes before the show.

 

Q. What if I am late for my show?

A. Doors to the show cannot be opened for late entry. You will need to arrive at least 15 minutes before the show. Doors open 30 minutes before the show begins.

 

Q. Can I choose my seats?

A. Seats are not specifically assigned for any of our shows. Doors open half an hour before the show. All seats provide an equally good view. If you do have a preference then please arrive early.

 

Q. Will I need to wear 3D glasses?

A. You won’t need to wear glasses, Dark Side of the Moon: The Fulldome Experience is a 2D show. The 5.1 surround sound with spellbinding visuals will create a truly astounding experience.

 

Q. Why is the show age 16 plus?

A. Our evening Planetarium content is tailored to an adult audience. The soundtrack to Dark Side of the Moon: The Fulldome Experience contains some swearing.


Q. Will there be any strobe lights?

A. The content does contain a few rapidly flashing sequences.


Q. Do you have a bar?

A. We have a small bar in our Space Gallery with a range of alcoholic and soft drinks. Please do not bring your own food or drink.  You can take your purchased drinks into the show with you.


Q. Do you have security?

A Security Officer will be supporting this event. We reserve the right to conduct random bag searches. Any alcohol found will be confiscated and returned at the end of the show.


Q. Does my ticket give me access to At-Bristol as well?

A. Doors open 30 minutes before each show giving you a chance to buy a drink and experience our Space Gallery. The rest of At-Bristol is not available as part of this ticket, and is not open during the evening.
