Supporter stories

It's thanks to the support of our visitors, members, businesses, trusts and foundations that we can continue our charitable work.

What projects have been supported in the past?

We The Curious supporters share our vision - to ensure everyone is included, curious and inspired by science to build a better world together.

Past projects funded by donors have been wide-ranging due to the nature of our work and our locality in the heart of Bristol historic harbourside, for example:

  • Cutting edge exhibitions such as Project What If
  • Inclusion projects in communities and schools
  • Inclusive volunteering and work experience programmes
  • Open City Research facilitating public engagement with cutting-edge research.
  • Educational projects ranging from new workshops and student-led research
  • Public programming and events such as school photography projects, engineering activities and food production workshops
  • Maintaining our heritage estate and external spaces for the community
It's really important to us to fund projects...where young people in Bristol are not only gaining qualifications for their future, but are also exploring their creative potential. It's a privilege for us to be able to help share young people's creativity with city-centre audiences.
Vicky Lee, Head of Bristol City Centre BID
