The Big Screen

A place for our community to showcase and enjoy science, culture, ideas and locally produced content for free

The Big Screen is situated on the outside of our building, facing onto Bristol’s well-loved Millennium Square. It runs from 7am until 11pm, seven days a week.

The screen provides an important city-centre platform for the showcasing of films, videos and live streams by local creatives, communities and school groups. Recently its shown content by Creative Youth Network, Aardman, RIFE and Vanessa Kissule to name but a few.  

We also use the screen to show our own content and as a programming space, bringing some of what goes on inside We The Curious outside for even more people to enjoy. 

The rest of the time we're working hard to bring you an exciting and varied programme of events – from family sing-alongs and feature film screenings, to live streamed theatre shows and major sporting events.

Want to see your film on the Big Screen? 

If you’re interested in showcasing your work then we want to hear from you. All you need to do is have a read of our Technical and Submission Guidelines, then send us an email with a link to your digital content.

Once your video, film or imagery has been approved, we’ll then ask you to send your content in the correct format for the screen. You’ll also need to complete a Contributor Consent Form to check that you have all the relevant permissions, such as music licenses and parental consent etc.
