From Quantum computing to Bio-engineering we've got a series of special events in the Test-Lab this summer.

Our research partners will be coming down to join us and you can get involved with some exciting real-life research.

All events are included in your day ticket.

Events coming up:

Wed 5 Aug: Help write a book!

Get a sneak peak and help edit a book about AI for children written by researchers at the University of Bristol.  Activity is drop in between 11am and 2.30pm.

Tues 18 Aug: Bio-engineering future furniture 

What if you could plant a seed and grow a chair? Join researchers to explore and share your thoughts on the future of objects living, non-living and somewhere in between. Activity is drop in between 11am and 1pm.

Tues 25 Aug: Quantum computing  

How could the invisible world of quantum phenomena change our lives in future? What exactly is quantum entanglement and what does it have to do with computers? Explore these questions and more with this drop-in activity between 11am and 1pm.

Fri 28 Aug: Multisensory design challenge 

What if your smartwatch had a scent? Or your phone had a taste? Join us in exploring future alternative interfaces. Discover how touch, smell, taste, and other underused senses can inspire more creative, engaging, and accessible ways to interact with technology. Activity is drop in between 11am and 1pm.

This activity takes place in a slight enclosed first floor space that is wheelchair accessible with some room between tables and information stands. 

It's led by a facilitator capable of being responsive to audience needs and making reasonable adjustments.

Access and support

Drop in sessions will be running 11am - 1pm, no booking required.
