A morning of play and exploration for little ones

Our autumn Toddler Takeover is a chance to get messy and play on a scale you can’t create at home. 

Best of all, we'll do the clearing up!

Our venue is just for our youngest visitors and their grown-ups during this session, so you can explore our venue at your own pace and enjoy activities specially designed for this event and age group. 

Add tickets to our Planetarium for a playful trip into space in our 2D show, Spin The Spaceship. 

Special activities

  • Build necklaces, towers or just roll around with hundreds of giant foam beads in our 'Noodle Wonderland' created by P(r)op artist Ramona Eve.
  • Eat the rainbow! Chop, nipple, squish and smell. Get hands-on in the Kitchen with safe knives and lots of lovely fruit, veg and herbs.
  • Create shapes and shadows as we use mirrors, torches and screens in our Light and Shadow Studio.
  • Head to the Leaf Stamp Lab and make a beautiful autumn-inspired artwork to take home using stamps and collage.
  • Join Ursa and Leo for a brand new interactive story as they head out in search of a rainbow (10.30am, 11.15am and 12pm).

This event is very hands on and can feel busy at times - however, there are plenty of calmer spots around the venue including our Quiet Room, if you and your family need to take a break. If you need any additional help engaging with activities, please speak to a member of staff on the day.

How it works

Our Toddler Takeover events are for 1 to 5 year olds and their grown-ups. There are no school groups on this day so there is plenty of space to play.

We'll be running our 'Spin the Spaceship' planetarium show at various times throughout the day. There is an additional charge for this and you can add show tickets to your booking before you check-out.  

If you are a member with us, Toddler Takeover is a special event and therefore not part of your package, however you will still benefit from half price planetarium shows, just log in to your account before selecting your tickets as normal.

Our monthly under 5s mornings, Play Fridays, are included in your package. 

Our open concession ticket is a more accessible version of our previous concession ticket. This is the ticket for you if you would ordinarily qualify for a concession. We don't require you to bring any proof of your concession status.

If our standard prices are simply out of reach at the moment, you can also opt for our open concession ticket with no questions asked.
