Summer Holidays

 Blast to the past with us this Summer holidays!

To mark our big birthday, we're are turning back the clock with an action-packed programme of summer activities celebrating 25 years of getting creative with science.  

Please book your tickets in advance as we tend to become fully booked during weekends and holidays. 

What's on this Summer holidays.

• Help build a time machine and explore the mysteries of the space-time continuum, In our brand new live science show, Blast to the Past.
• Can you get a robot to draw you a picture? Visit the Tinkering Space and get creative with our Scribblebots.
• Inspired by our old exhibits, join us in the Kitchen for Tongue-Twisting Tastes to explore what the 5 tastes are and see if you can match up the tastes with their names.
• Head to the Greenhouse for Hanging Gardens. Plant some seeds with us and create a living, growing experiment to take home.
• In our Open City Lab be transported to an imaginary desert island for Research Island Rescue - a series of challenges designed to hone your research skills.

All these activities are drop-in. Just check times on arrival. 

In the Planetarium

Add tickets to the UK's only 3D planetarium for just £4 per person (£3 concession). 

Set off on your very own space adventure in Expedition Solar System 3D or have your mind blown by meteor showers, gas giants and gigantic stars in summer stargazing show Colossal Cosmos 3D (age 6+). 

Due to eye health restrictions, 3D shows aren't suitable for children under 6. Instead little ones and their grown-ups can pack their space bags and prepare for launch in interactive show Space Explorers 2D.
